Chasetown exit FA Cup with a narrow 1-0 loss

A James Spiers strike was the difference as Boldmere headed into the First qualifying round.

Against the run of play The Mikes took the lead when a ball across the penalty area fell to Spiers who smashed the ball into the opposite corner.

Chasetown started well but lacked the final ball with their best chance of the first half coming from a Jack Langston free kick that landed into the hands of Daniel Moore.

As soon  as the second half started The Scholars should have been level when a Sam Wilding shot was narrowly kept off the line by Boldmere defender Tazivaishe Chibaya.

Chasetown kept coming in the second half and came close with a Jack Langston free kick that curled over.

The best chance waited until the end when Tom Unwin received the ball and hit a shot that smashed the right hand post.
