Chasetown outplayed by new premier division team Belper town
Today Chasetown played Belper in a Winner takes all tie in front of a record crowd
Chasetown started the brightest when Danny o’callaghan shot at the keeper
The deadlock was almost broken when Ben Lund spotted the run of Jack Langston and placed it on his head only for him to head wide
Chasetown had an effort on the half hour mark via Langston but it was firmly blocked by a visiting defender.
Just as we hit the 45th minute o’callaghan hit a shot that curled wide
The deadlock was almost broken when Alex Melbourne hit a shot that deflected narrowly wide
Belper came out the better on the second half and the ball was crossed to Riece Bertram who headed home
Chasetown came close to levelling the scores when Jack Langston had a shot tipped behind and from the corner Joey Butlin headed at the keeper
Belper almost doubled there lead when Joshua Mansell had to dive in and put a cross behind.
Chasetown came agonisingly close in the dying minutes but he could only find the player on the line to send Belper into the premiership division for the first time in 7 years.
